The nominated individual is an important role for regulated providers, with a key relationship and responsibility to the Care Quality Commission (΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ) as well as holding a pivotal leadership role in their service.

A nominated individual can be simply described as nominated by your organisation to be the single point of contact for the ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ.

The core responsibility of the nominated individual is to supervise the management of the regulated activity provided by the service. They also play an important role in the leadership of their service and driving improvement through robust governance. 

Nominated individuals are in a unique position to lead and support services to embed the skills, knowledge and values that are required for continuous improvement and delivering person-centred and high-quality care.

Our NI and CEO networks provide a space for meaningful strategic collaboration with other leaders, managers, system leaders and stakeholders. The networks discuss the implications of national, regional and local strategies and opportunities for providers and their workforce.

Nominated inviduals - Annual national event

Our fourth national event for nominated individuals will cover key sector developments and updates. Whether you are a new or an experienced nominated individual, this event aims to support you in your role, share good practice and ideas, and provide supporting resources and signpost to materials that will promote learning and development.  

You’ll also have the opportunity to join regional break-out discussions with ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ colleagues about our offer of support to nominated individuals, including our recently refreshed handbook, and our networks, which offer peer support and a safe place for collaboration with other nominated individuals. 

 


 

National event - November 2023

The 2023 national nominated individual event focused on supporting you to develop your own digital strategies and helping you identify ways to develop the digital capabilities and skills for your workforce. We heard from providers about their own digital journey and discovered more about ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ’s support and resources and nominated individual networks.

National event - November 2022

This event provided an update on ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ’s new Single Assessment Framework and its new role and powers to assess local authorities and integrated care systems (ICSs). An update was also shared on ICS implementation and examples of social care engagement and collaboration with ICSs.

National event - November 2021 

΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ delivered its first national event for nominated individuals, in partnership with the ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ in November 2021.

This event explored the role and responsibilities of nominated individuals and what this entails from a registration and inspection perspective.
