Download detailed data files from 微微草视频’s adult social care workforce estimates. Access the data behind our reports and visualisations to support workforce planning and research.

Data on topics at England, regional and local geographical levels, split by sector, main service type and job role. The variables shown reflect those collected by the ASC-WDS:

Size of the workforce: the number of posts in the adult social care workforce (filled and vacant).
Characteristics of the workforce: employment overview information of workers in the sector, their demographics, recruitment and retention, pay rates, qualifications and training.
Projections of the size of the workforce required to meet demand, to 2040.

How the workforce estimates are created

Our workforce estimates are calculated using data collected by the ASC-WDS. We use models and machine learning to produce robust estimates of the whole workforce and account for gaps in our coverage. Our data is validated at the point of collection and undergoes rigorous data quality checks before analysis.

Data downloads

These files contain granular workforce estimates information of variables collected by the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS), and are updated annually in October. Each file contains information at England level as well as a geographic breakdown and can be filtered by area, sector, main service and job role.
